Hill arts walk: Ghost Gallery and Blick open, Chihuly does Broadway public opening, plus 50 venues participating

Shame on CHS for not getting this posted earlier. We were a little busy helping friends with their work. The April edition of the Blitz Capitol Hill arts walk is chock full of new and interesting. Apologies for the delay. Hope you can still make time to make it out. And, as usual, CHS is happy to help sponsor the monthly 2nd-Thursday event. Here are April’s highlights. You can download tonight’s guide and map attached to this post for more.

  • Ghost Gallery has put down roots in the former Crawl Space and is hosting a grand opening tonight. Reportedly there are plans for barbecue and cupcakes. You can check it out at 504 E. Denny Way at Olive, “beyond the wooden fence next to Hillcrest Market.”
  • Also new, also full of things artistic, the new Blick Art Materials in the former home of EveryDay Music at 1600 Broadway is reportedly open for business today. Let us know if you’ve stopped by.
  • Also of note tonight, “Birds” at Bauhaus (plus, monthly movie night!) and the public unveiling of the Chihuly work inside the newly opened Broadway Building. We previewed it and (spoiler alert) told you it is not glass.
  • Broadway’s new Chihuly
