Capitol Hill Food and Drink Notes: Saint turns 2 and Tango turns 10 edition

  • Tango continues to celebrate its 10th anniversary in high style this week: Professional Tango dancer group Tango En Vie and Century Ballroom instructors will be at Tango this week offering free 10 minute tango lessons & a free dessert of choice (try the El Diablo) 
  • Linda Derschang’s favorite comfort dish – would you believe butter and salted radishes?
  • The Saint turns 2 this week: Between 4/5 and 4/8, if you wish your server a happy birthday you will get get happy hour drink prices & on 4/7, they will celebrate with a mariachi band (7:30 to 8:30 pm & again from 9 to 10 pm) and happy hour prices all night long ($5 specialty cocktails incl. house margarita, $5 appetizers & $3 well drinks)
  • Marigold & Mint is already open: will soon be joined by Calf & Kid (official opening date will be 4/22)
  • Seattle Times pays a visit to Taco Gringos and finds a lot to like
  • Mark the arrival of spring at the Elysian by sampling the Ambrosia Maibock (they only have an oaked version right now – at least as of yesterday – and I am told that the unoaked is better)

great for taco gringos to be getting the press, but bizarre that the times just discovered it. they’ve been there for years.
