This morning, work started on the curb bulb and other improvements to the Denny and Boylston intersection. Traffic on Denny is one way from Boylston to Belmont. It looks like it will will completed today. The result will be a short crosswalk across Denny on the west side of Boylston.
This was a plan that was originally planned by SDOT, scrapped (due to cost), then paid for by Sound Transit.
This intersection has been so unfriendly to pedestrians (and drivers trying to get across Denny, for that matter). This is great news!
Thank you Sound Transit! You’ve been great about addressing concerns that really should be the responsibility of SDOT. We appreciate that you care and are willing to work with and support the community. When you are done I hope positions open up at SDOT. They could use some new blood who actually cares about the community that pays their salaries!
I work about a block away at Office Nomads and when I left work on Friday and there were a couple guys looking at lines on the pavement and when I came in this morning there was a pretty new sidewalk. I’m impressed.
