‘Large, Hairy’ art walk tonight plus more ways to help Haiti

There will be at least one warm participant in tonight’s drizzly Capitol Hill art walk. Sasquatch, hairy and presumably used to these kinds of Pacific Northwest conditions, will be out enjoying the event:

Local artists and zinesters David Lasky, Kinoko, Kelly Froh, Greg Hofmann and Darin Shuler, among others, offer their takes on the myth of Bigfoot at Large, Hairy & Literate, a group exhibit presented by ZAPP in conjunction with Blitz!: Capitol Hill’s Art Walk, on Thursday, January 14, 5-8 p.m.

For more information about Large, Hairy and Literate, visit the ZAPP Gallery page.

Also going on tonight, an open house at Office Nomads (beer and Bluebird ice cream, we’re told), boudoir photography at Babeland and more. See http://blitzcapitolhill.com for the full rundown. We’ve also attached this month’s walk map for your convenience.

Don’t forget about tonight’s Sound Transit light rail construction update meeting tonight at Seattle Central.

Meanwhile at Seattle University, students and community members will gather tonight for a prayer for Haiti at 6:15 p.m. in the Ecumenical Chapel in Campion Hall. Seattle University also announced that for the next two Sundays the full tithes of the 11:00 am and 9:00 pm masses will be given to Catholic Relief Services and Jesuit Refugee Service for their emergency work with the people of Haiti.

You can also give by texting “Haiti” to 90999 to automatically donate $10 to the Red Cross on your next phone bill or swing by Liberty Bar for their special cocktail benefitting the relief efforts.
