If you were off the Hill for the holidays, you didn’t miss much in the ‘bad news’ department. Beyond starting with two straight days of power outages, we had a very quiet week from the 911 end of things — a car accident here and there and a Christmas Day chimney fire that was taken care of quickly. But the holiday break many of you enjoyed does afford the opportunity to show off a new feature on our fellow Neighborlogs site, SeattleCrime.com.
You can use the site’s incident map to see 911 callouts for last week on Capitol Hill:
You can zoom in on any section of the Hill for a quick check of what was happening while you were away. While we don’t recommend you dwell too much on the 911 calls and crimes of the world, we do believe that knowing what is happening on your street is an important part of feeling at home — even if that means checking out the bad news every now and then. And, given what a quiet week it was on Capitol Hill, checking the bad news can sometimes be good news.
