Bob Keefer said, “The camera is, beyond any doubt, the least important element in the making of any photograph”….. And now there’s the amazing, and for me, life altering, iPhone
I’m a freelance photographer in Seattle. I feel in love with photography in college, so much so that I earned a degree in it. I went to work for Boeing after college, and escaped after 18 (soul-sucking) years as a photographer, graphic, web, and interactive designer.
Two years ago I became unable to lift my Canon Mark III due to Fibromyalgia. Photography is my passion, you know,” live to photograph, photograph to live”. I had to keep shooting. The iPhone was lightweight, available, and I was curious as to it’s possibilities. It kept me going during the bad days, and enriches my good days. I remain captive to the possibilities and I am able to take images that amaze me. These photos can be taken further with a variety of incredible apps. I don’t even want to admit how many iphone apps I have. Genius PS Mobile, PhotoForge, TiltShift, and Best Camera are the ones I use the most. Still looking for the perfect app, it’s kind of like looking for the perfect camera bag.
Presently I am producing calendars of my iPhone photos and just finished a book. My iPhone photos can be at http://dixonhamby.tumblr.com/
