The day shift Santas, originally uploaded by ctanstfl.
November 27th, the day after Thanksgiving, is Black Friday. For merchants without the backing of multinational corporations and massive ad campaigns, it’s easy to get left behind as consumers stream by on their way to Northgate, Southgate and Amazon.com. One group of Capitol Hill businesses is taking things in their own hands this year to let Capitol Hill consumers (like me!) know about their holiday shopping deals. More about that below. First, an invitation.
Please treat this post as a Capitol Hill crowd-sourced Black Friday circular. If you know of a favorite Capitol Hill area store with a great deal this week and beyond, post about it here in the comments for everybody to see. I’ll also add things I find out about as I collect them. We’ll link to this post from the sidebar of every page for as long as it stays interesting.
You can also Tweet deals with hashtag #chxmas to appear in this feed:
To get things started, here is what the family of businesses near 14th and Pine have cooked up at http://www.capitolhillholidays.com/
Now, it’s your turn. Let us know what you find. Happy holidays.
