We posted last night on a reported fire at Holy Names Academy that inspired one of the largest fire department callouts — including one of the largest fire trucks — you’ll see. Talked to the SFD today — turns out, that reported fire was steam. No smoke. No fire. Here’s a pic sent in by neighbor Mark:
It was actually smoke not steam. The school converted from natural gas to diesel and it was the new diesel fumes, from what the firefighters told us as we gawked at the plumes on the corner. It was a pleasant smell in many of our houses for a couple of hours, much like sitting behind a semi truck in stopped traffic.
Yuck. Thanks for the info. Sorry for the stank.
