Sorry for quiet site this morning. I’m at Polyclinic for my wrist —
nondisplaced fracture in my ulna. Cast, etc. Back up and posting soon.
I’ve got the first batch of census results to share!

Sorry for the injury! Hope you heal quickly.
Hit on bike by Ford LTD. Compound fracture of tibia and fibula. Married, on crutches, on Valentine’s Day, in (short) plaster cast decorated with heart by castmaker. Orthopedic surgeon as honored guest at wedding. Crutching on beach at Cannon Beach, with wind whistling through holes in crutches, is very romantic.
Metal plate and 6 screws installed (looks great on X-rays): removed when infection flares up. Got to learn how to give myself shots: you practice with an orange!
Happy healing. Do we get to learn how it happened, or is it too embarrassing?
Get well soon!
The only thing I ever broke was one of my front teeth. It involved playing around with socks on a slippery gym floor – I was in 3rd grade, so it sounded like a good idea at the time.
Also – what happened?
I broke my front tooth in high school while practicing twirling with my drum major baton.
I’m guessing neighborhood blogging doesn’t come with disability benefits, so I hope you’re soon on the mend.
A while back I fractured the floor of my left orbital bone (eye socket) after getting hit by a softball. Ouch! I was really glad when I was able to see a hint of light a couple of hours later.
