The icy conditions are likely to put everybody out of sorts. Let’s do a quick soundoff and some group planning here. I’ll be headed off to a neighborhood coffee shop soon to get out of the house and get some work done. You?
Also, add a comment with your planned locale and maybe we can cook up a little CHS networking.
If you are doing the coffee shop thing, here are a few items to think about:
BTW, I’ll be in the Hill-CD border zone. Say hi.
The 49 I took off the hill had a 2 minute delay. Not bad. I kept warm by running to catch it since I was behind schedule as per usual. The snow/ice covered streets and sidewalks didn’t affect my commute until I got to West Seattle and then it just slowed my walk from the bus stop. Most (all?) of the buses I saw had chains on their rear tires, but the roads (at least downtown) were in pretty good condition.
This works well for me, timing-wise, since all of my work can be done online at this point in the quarter.
And that means I need only brave the weather for the five minutes it takes me to walk to Vivace. Huzzah!
Totes! My 12 was on time and my walk was relatively ice-free. That said, I think I would have preferred a little icy treachery over the frozen puke in front of Harborview.
I would love a change of scenery (ie: coffee shop) but the icy sidewalks make it impossible for me to leave my apartment via crutches. We need a latte-delivery service on the hill!
I tried to go to work this morning by bus (48->545). I waited 45 minutes for the northbound 48 to show before giving up and limping numbly back home. The weird thing was that Metro’s online tracker said that 3 buses went by during the time I waited there with an ever-growing crowd of people. I think Metro is covering up their service snafus to avoid criticism when they ask for their next fare increase.
That’s weird. Usually the website doesn’t just lie. Weird mistakes, sure, but usually not lies . . .
Could this blurb explain things?
