I had just enough time today to slip by the Press condo auction and the big 50-family benefit garage sale over on Olive. Seems like the garage sale people were getting a better deal but the auction definitely had the bigger crowd — about 300 people streamed out of the Hyatt on Pike after the last unit was sold.
Slog coverage has some good color from participants (not cool enough for The Stranger, of course) and corroborates my earlier report of prices about 20% below ‘value.’
Meanwhile, the 50-family garage sale continues on Sunday beneath Coldwell Banker on Olive Way. It’s a benefit for a friend of the group who has been diagnosed with ALS — amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or Lou Gehrig’s disease. No 20% off condos but I did see a few treasures including a very nice air hockey table that you definitely need for your basement.
