Gruv is in the heart (of empty storefronts)

The stretch of Broadway between Republican and Harrison generally has near 100% occupancy.  Yesterday I noticed that the storefronts on either side of Gruv — STA Traval and a Chinese restaurant whose name I can’t remember — very recently closed and it looks like Gruv is expanding into STA.

p.s.  While we’re on the subject, in my best Seinfeld voice, what was the deal with STA Travel?!

Shocking…blah.

PS: It seems like it is taking a long time for B&O to open there. Any word more specific than “late summer” for their opening date?

Now where will I go for some hangover-cure cheap-fried-chicken-in-sugary-sauce?

Isn’t the whole mile of Broadway being ripped down and condo-ized? Mmm… gentrification!

Maybe they’ll be nice and give us a few unique stores at the base of their castles.

I haven’t been able to eat there since I saw a mouse. So I’m not too sad to see it go. Please note that I do not do drugs, but the address of the Magic Dragon is 420, so even though I wouldn’t shop at such a shop as may like occupy 420 Broadway, I’d sorta like to see one there. ;-)
