With history, a powerful, super-loved co-op, and demographics (families + higher than average income) as backdrop, this neighborhood takes its grocery shopping seriously.
So, we’re curious and, frankly, employing some lazy web here — with Pioneer Organics being swallowed by Spud, what’s your chow plan? In the interest of fairness, we’ll reveal our secret grocery source — we’re Amazon Fresh folks right now (for as long as they aren’t charging sales tax, at least). You?
UPDATE: We screwed up and left out some important options in first version of this poll. New poll below. Apologies. Please forgive us. We are simple people.
No Madison Market?
We currently use Pioneer. We’ll stay with Spud and see how they work out.
But I’m a little concerned about what I’m hearing coming out of Pioneer about how the takeover happened and what we may be losing with Spud taking over.
lamely left out two when making the poll — Trader Joe’s and Madison. Toying. Will re-start the poll.
Madison Market! That’s what my “other” vote was for.
Hmmm…
This whole missing Madison Market kerfuffle seems vaguely familiar
Conspiracy? Coincidence?
:)
Blush. It’s a mental block. Same thing happens offline, too. It’s like MM doesn’t exist for my little brain.
Boo. Now that the whole thing seems even more repetitive. Maybe we’ll just start doing a monthly grocery survey instead of waiting for yet another provider to bite the dust. Survey of the future:
QFC
QFC
or QFC
Might want to include Whole Foods on Denny as well.
You may also want to think about Farmers Markets and CSAs as the season comes upon us.

And you should also add New Roots Organics, which is now Pioneer’s only local rival in the organic home-delivery service biz.
That’s what MY other is for.
I’d like to echo Christopher’s comment on the missing New Roots option in the poll. Perhaps a generic CSA (Community Supported Aggrigulture)/Produce Delivery option could be added? I know that Full Circle Farms is a popular option for many people as well.
tough crowd for polls
Tough crowd, indeed. In which case, maybe you should add liquor stores, too.
But semi-seriously…besides the occasional Safeway run we are doing Amazon, too. No sales tax as you said, and no delivery charge for a tab over maybe $50. They actually have a selection that is a mix of TJ’s and QFC. And the delivery people are very friendly (esp. compared w/Albertson’s delivery).
New Roots!
