Casting for a new show for the DIY Network called “Green It Up!” is in process. Seattle-based Screaming Flea Productions is looking for two “dynamic” families with kids in the same neighborhood (even better – the same street!) who want to compete as to who can be the most “green.” We think there must be some families on Capitol Hill that would be perfect for this show. Everyone wants to be on TV, and at least this show isn’t obviously going to focus on your bad parenting or ugly clothes. Naturally, a little family drama helps, so if you have a wild two-year-old or an angry teen you should definitely apply. Each family will be given projects to do to make their house more earth friendly – the producers sweeten the pot by saying you’ll get some help in the form of contractors and free new appliances. The goal is to be the family that most improves their energy usage and general environmental friendliness. Filming will be from late February through March.
