Outside.in is good for us

Not sure how it will do once the initial hype passes, but new local blog site Outside.in is already impacting our site traffic. On its first day of operation, it sent us about 11% of our visitors. Taking a quick look this morning, it’s likely the trend will continue today. It helps that we are pretty much the only content being featured for key Seattle neighborhoods like good old 98112 — but it’s nice to see Outside passing on so many readers. The love will be shared more broadly shortly, we’re sure. In the meantime, welcome Outside.inners.

… it seems like only yesterday that you were complaining about your informative but generic site name. now it’s turning out to be a linky goldmine!

Really? 11 percent? I get more referrals from your site than I’ve gotten from them so far … I got two yesterday from them which was approximately .3% of the day’s traffic. I’m wondering where they’re marketing besides writing all us “placebloggers” to tell us they’ve absorbed us like the Borg …

i wish you would stop blogging about how you’re a blog and blog more about what’s happening on the hill!

thanks

Yeah, we wish the same thing sometimes. Only 2 out of the last 10 posts have been “about” blogging, though!

Ouch — I hate when criticism is on target and well said. Much easier to stomach meanies who just want to hurt somebody’s feelings.
