Our raccoons aren’t wireless

Capitol Hill has some large varmints. We’ve seen raccoons as big as 2nd graders up here. Some mystery as to where these things go during the day. Volunteer Park? The Canterbury?

Solving another mystery as to how they get wherever they go, we found this raccoon scrambling across a wire above our backyard before it clambored onto a utility pole.

I think they actually do hang out at the Canterbury during the day. By the video games. And they play Suzanne Vega’s “Tom’s Diner” all day on the jukbox.

I cracked up when I read your title for this photo! Obviously they’ve been watching the squirrels and rats. ;^)

Hmmm. I once had a whole family of the rascals under my house in the ‘burbs. Quite possibly, they don’t go anywhere during the day. But, better them than skunks.
