There are violent deaths every day in this city. But today we find ourselves down the street from some ultra-violence. It’s a mix of big numbers (7), kids gone bad (goth punk ravers, oh my) and a relatively unlikely setting. The Slog is doing a good job poring through the details. In a crime like this, every peculiar element has the potential to become pop culture.

Seven people dead in Capitol Hill shooting
At least seven people were killed in a shooting this morning at a home in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. Police said one of the dead was the gunman.
At around 7 a.m. a man walked into a blue rental home in the 2100 block of East Republican Street and opened fire, killing six people. More than a dozen people who had attended a late-night party were relaxing inside when the shooting happened, said Seattle police spokesman Rich Pruitt.
When officers confronted the gunman he “turned the weapon on himself,” Pruitt said.
As you can imagine, quite a bit of ‘me too’ posts like ours on this out there on the Web — but also a few with unique bits of insight like this one

Of course, we know what comes next: the shooter surely had a blog or a My Space where we’ll get to stare, sickened but still curious.
