RE: As much as I am for 12th

See, the thing about the CHCC proposal is that it really is for Capitol Hill. The majority of the Broadway segment is outside of the Hiil. Ours is definitely the portion that would benefit most from their vision and I 100 pecent support it, but I'd be that they re-designing of the streetscape would probably end at Madison. I would really enjoy seeing Broadway from Madison to as far as Roy/Aloha to look like their proposal. Impact could be a bit high for cars if that was to happen, but not for bikes or pedestrians. You can take Harvard for biking and pedestrians HAVE to have a walking space during contruction projects prer SMC laws. |

and as much of a congestion nightmare that I think Broadway will be, I think the construction impact will not be terribly high. The South Lake Union line was built with very minimal impact from what I saw commuting on the 7x's to/from Downtown from/to the U-District back during construction. If we could adopt the community councils vision for broadway with less lanes and seperated bike lanes, while moving Broadway away from being a car-centric arterial to a more transit and pedestrian friendly thoroughfare, I would support it wholeheartedly. |

"The historical and cultural importance of this neighborhood must be considered,"
Except when building new condo projects. Then we can have a completely ugly building that does not mesh at all with the culture or aesthetic qualities of the neighborhood. I say build it. Build it. If you approved half of the ugly buildings approved within the past few years, then why not an innovative literally one-of-a-kind, not so ugly building? |

RE: Good news for SCCC, just watch the design
| Yeah it's weird, but the Edison building was constructed when uber-depressing modernism was huge for design. So, that sort of makes sense. I do agree that the Math+Sciences building looks better, but yeah, SCCC you need bigger windows!! | |

If the wine is actually good, that isn't a completely outrageous price. Also, how on the hell do you make corn beef and cabbage corn dogs? Do I even want to know? Maybe they should do apple pie corn dogs on independence day and dimsum corn dogs on chinese new year. I bet the hipsters would eat that up (literally). |

I kind of enjoyed how Jimi actually had something to do with Seattle. I say we replace Elvis with Bruce Lee. Yeah, he wasn't a musician (but, you know, he lived here and went to school here and got married here and is buried here), but why do the statues have to be specifically music oriented? |

RE: Good

| Capitol Hill was still definitely Hipsterville 3-4 years ago. As sad as it is, and as desperately as some people try to think that Capitol Hill was "different" just a few years back, it really wasn't. Well, there are a few more ugly condos now. | |

RE: Corndog Madame
| the whole French meets circus thing is a bit odd. In fact, I am quite sure the corndog madame thing is definitely not something to be found at a French circus. I had one of their corndogs and it was quite good, but I think I will head down the street for a nice croque madame from Café Presse if I need my cheese and egg fix. | |

RE: 4 blocks
Good point. The point of these poll is to pinpoint the extremes. Most transit riders that I know or have met fall into two groups. Group A will walk a good distance to utilize public transportation. Group B wants it at their doorstep. A bit arbitrarily, 4 blocks was set as a median and was excluded. In these polls distances are also i two groups. "relatively close" and "a longer distance." It has been noted in discussions the 3 blocks is the average that anyone wants to travel for public transportation (namely this streetcar). There is not much information on how this average came to be and, even if this is true, it is my belief that with these polls we can gain a better understanding of what everyone (not just transit nerds) would like to expect. With these polls I plan on making graphical representations. If these polls end up generating enough traction, I will definitely have others in the future in regards to other ridership inquiries. |

I forgot my foil hat

I agree with you on the first part. Mallahan just sounds like a giant douche. He is cocky and arrogant. No wonder he has spent most of his time on the Eastside (See: T-Mobile). He is not in touch and would rather take a jab at Mike or his supporters than actually use his brain. He has opposed things that Seattleites want. He rides Obama's coat tails. Name dropping should not work, but somehow it does (See: Susan Hutchison). Hell, why don't we all just run for office on the "I am associated with Obama in some fashion (i.e. I read about him in the newspaper)" ticket. I want to hear details about why he is for the streetcar now. I want to see metrics on how Seattle's traffic will cause World War III. I want to know what neighborhood Joe actually lives in. I want to know how he has ACTUALLY contributed to the citizens of this city. Hey Joe, ever heard of the Embarcadero by the way? SF just celebrated nearly two decades of a surface/transit option. Whoa, and that city is larger and far more dense than Seattle. Crazy, right? Research, what's that? Ugh, I hate to say it but this douche is probably going to win. I hate polling numbers. |

Capitol Hill as a whole is still mislabeled - or not labeled.
Not on Bing maps though. They actually acknowledged that they have Seattle employees that they could ask. (Hey Google, do this.) Bing just needs to take new photos and get a streetview service. |

Cry about it.

Just because the name is similar does not mean you have to get so upset over this. This is just an example of a restaurant owner who has a big impact on the market trying to squeeze out new competition. This guy should go on Yelp and see how many restaurants in Seattle (and surrounding areas) have similar names (Monsoon/Typhoon perhaps? Any teriyaki restaurant known to man?). Give me a break. |

Best underrated pho on Capitol Hill
Do you want REAL pho? I mean broth made the right way? No MSG? Then go here. Go here right now. It costs like a dollar more than Than Bros, but the quality is like 10 times better. I love this place. I try to go here at least once a week. The owners are both very nice and personable as well. The restaurant is small, but that adds to the appeal. It's pretty intimate. I walked by this place for years without giving it a chance until about 2 years ago. I wish I could get those years back. Do not pass this place again. Best pho, period. |

My favorite restaurant on the Hill. Their blueberry tea (Alcohol infused tea!!!!) is awesome and a great buy. You get a cup up booze tea and another kettle too. The food is amazing as well, but you know that. Oh my god! The brioche bread pudding is the best period. |

Building is horrible, Manager is awesome
I lived here for a year. I will list a few reasons why I do not reccomend renting. The walls are paper thin. The sink and bathtub in the bathroom were both completely clogged upon move in. The unit was supposed to have a big patched hole in the wall painted over before move in -Never happened. The lock on my door was broken for about 3 weeks and it took about 5 calls to the old manager to get it fixed. The building did not have recycling service until the new manager came on board. My neighbors had parties all night every nght (until about 4am) and continued after numerous complaints. this is all i can think of at the moment....but yeah. Scott the apartment manager is awesome though. |

agree on 12th
| 12th is a corridor that is dominated by cars and would be perfect for a streetcar line (We desperately need a direct route to the ID). I think having it turn on John (or Denny?) and having it go down and run on Broadway for a few blocks and then back up to 12th somewhere in Pike/Pine. So, basically it would be a big line with a loop at the end. I guess this way the streetcar driver would not have to walk back and forth throughout the car ever time the line ends, as well. | |

It's a great idea, but....
| Closing a main arterial streets like pike or pike would cause congestion elsewhere (e.g. Madison, Denny, or John). They are just too integral to people commuting from the top of the hill. I would suggest a North/South street, such as Harvard or 10th. These streets have less car traffic and are more pedestrian friendly. The only downside is that storefront may need to be added to make a plan like that work. | |

Noise is everywhere,
| I believe the question is: Would you rather have this finished sooner than later? I know I would not want to have to deal with it for 8 years if we could shrink that time by running the project 24 hours a day. If you can sleep with constant sirens, drunks, and airplanes overhead, I am sure construction equipment will not be much worse. I am for this. | |
