Love dat crow
| A coincidence perhaps, but I saw a big old fat crow on a wire yesterday during my run. I thought of CHS and wondered about the graphic. Thanks for telepathically receiving my question and answering it the next day with a well-written post. I can't wait for you to answer my next question. | |

Bring Me A Hardware Store!
| Yeah, yeah, so this space isn't big enough for one, but I'd love a little neighborhood Ace Hardware - like the one around South Lake Union or Maple Leaf. If Pacific Hardware would expand their inventory and have some stable hours, then I'd shut up. | |

La Rambla Rocks
It would be awesome if Seattle could support and sustain something like La Rambla. It is an amazing street (as long as you hang on to your wallet - hello, Barcelona pickpockets). It's chock full of vendors selling art, flowers and tourist stuff. Folks sell flowers and food. There are musicians and people posing as statues. It's just an odd, colorful street. Spanish poet Federico García Lorca once said that La Rambla was "the only street in the world which I wish would never end". It's that damn cool. Of course, this street is located in the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona, an architectually stunning and historic area with medieval cathedrals and cobblestone streets. Then again, we could put our own Seattle spin on things - La Rambla will never boast Babeland or the Comet. So there. |

Mobile improvements?
Hey Justin - a most humble request for the future: an improved site experience for mobile browsers. When viewing the South Lake page on my phone, all of the chrome and sidebars display at the top and I have to scroll down, down, down to get to the actual posts. Oh sure, I know I *should* run out and buy an iPhone (and maybe I will!), but I just wanted to put in this suggestion for the other seven people who are stuck on traditional mobile browsers. :) Thank you! |

Show support!
| I went to Purr last night (we were headed elsewhere until we read about these stupid threats) for dinner and a drink and told the bartender that we were there because of the ricin letters. He was very appreciative. It's always nice when threats actually generate business and support instead of driving them away. | |

Oddfellows rocks
I really like Oddfellows. I hope the menu matures a bit as time goes on, but it seems like they are willing to grow. The staff is really friendly and helpful. It's a great place to hang in the morning with your laptop and coffee. Love their cereal krispy bars. Yum. |

Madison is getting slick
| I hear some cars (and one very large tour bus) starting to struggle getting up Madison around 19th (going west). Madison Market is closing at 6pm. Lots of people out on foot. | |

Big ole accident on Madison & 19th
| Stay away from Madison at 19th - big accident and people can't get through the intersection. Cars are just pulled over to the side of Madison. | |

Lambert House
I'll throw in Lambert House for consideration. It's a drop-in center on 15th for LGBT youth. Many of them are street involved. A good percentage of those youth were thrown out of their homes after they came out of the closet (good parenting!) or left messy and/or abusive home situations. It's also the place where many queer kids get to meet other queer kids for the first time. It may also be the only place where youth feel safe to be out (lots of youth of color, trans youth and children of immigrants with less-than-accepting attitudes on queer issues). I volunteered there for a few years. There's always a great energy and lots of dramatics (hello, teenagers). Lambert always operates on a shoestring. I'm sure the youth would appreciate the support. |

Thanks for the great suggestions - yancy, let me know about the Vivace space. What about the conference room at Office Nomads? Does anyone know how many folks that holds? |

Awesome.

| I love Scott's police scanner reports. Some of those entries are just hilarious...and I had no idea there was so much shoplifting going on at the QFC and Goodwill. | |

Yum and Spackle
| A dessert oasis. Because we're not fat enough. Or bring back a reduced-calorie (sticking with the dessert theme) City People's (of the hardware store variety). The place on 12th is great but it's a little hit and miss about its hours. | |
