Cohousing – “intentional” living communities where residents occupy their own houses or condo units but otherwise share everything from potlucks to P-Patch duty with neighbors—is resurfacing in metro Seattle for the first time in more than a decade. This year's PrideFest at Seattle Center on June 27, 2010, immediately follows the Seattle Pride Parade on 4th Avenue, and it looks like it will be the biggest and best yet. With a bigger footprint, the annual all ages Seattle PrideFest has grown to be one of the biggest free Pride Festivals in the nation. Organizer Egan Orion of One Degree Events is really putting it all in for this one with more beer gardens and bigger performers.

To minimize traffic impacts, Sound Transit’s contractor rescheduled the sidewalk construction along Montlake Blvd. during the University of Washington’s spring break. During the week of March 22, 2010 there will be several construction activities along Montlake Blvd. adjacent to Husky Stadium that will affect the roadway and sidewalks.
Work and traffic impacts (schedule is subject to change):
March 23 – 25: Complete curb and sidewalk at the new Pacific St. driveway entrance to the Husky Stadium Parking lot.
Sidewalk closure on the east side of Montlake Blvd adjacent to the UW Station construction area (Bicyclist/Pedestrians detour located on the west sidewalk on Montlake Blvd).
Off-peak northbound lane closure on Montlake Blvd (This work will be done Tuesday, March 23 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. to minimize traffic impacts)

When police raided the apartment building behind the Wild Rose Tavern in June 2009, we learned that the bust was part of a three year investigation into after-hours gambling spots and a related drug ring distributing cocaine and methamphetamine. Seattle Crime reports that the investigation has drawn to a close and prosecutors expect to file no further charges.

Usually it's enough to put up an event post on CHS for the monthly Capitol HIll Community Council meetings. But this month, like in , the Community Council as some big stuff on the agenda, some of which needs to go to a vote. So I feel it is my responsibility as CHCC president to get the word out far and wide about what we'll be talking about in our general meeting this Thursday (7-9pm, Cal Anderson Park Shelterhouse).
