The feasts — for now — are over and there are more than a few of us already resolved to self-betterment and making sure these jeans still fit come New Year’s. Here are updates on a handful of new businesses around Capitol Hill that might be able to help out or, if nothing else, help us feel better about ourselves.
- — The first retail tenant of the new Lawrence Lofts at 19th and Madison is debuting this post-Thanksgiving Monday with free classes to get you moving:

The Grand Opening is scheduled for Monday, November 26th, 2012 and will be celebrated with 3 free classes open to the public from 4:30 PM to 8:30PM. The class schedule is available online at www.breathehotyoga.com
Regular classes will begin on Tuesday November 27th, 2012 and all schedules are posted on the website.
Breathe Hot Yoga offers a variety of classes encompassing two primary styles:
The Yoga Asana classes are a complete system of Hatha Yoga from the Bishnu Gosh lineage. Each yoga routine is designed to create total health within the body and to serve as preparation for meditation.
Cali Yoga Flow is a yoga flow class that is practiced in 85 degrees and is rooted in the vinyasa method of linking breath with movement. Cali yoga emphasizes balance, dynamic flexibility and power. All Cali Yoga classes are appropriate for beginners and experts alike.Breathe Hot Yoga is a locally owned and operated company offering Anti-bacterial, medical grade vinyl flooring, zoned infrared heat –( hot, medium & mild zones), showers, fanatical daily cleaning and 70 plus classes per week. There are two additional locations in West Seattle and South Lake Union.
The company was founded by West Seattleites Amber Borgomainerio and Ross Yearsley.
- More new yoga: We introduced you to the The Grinning Yogi on 15th Ave E earlier this year and Broadway’s Joule building is slated for a new CorePower Yoga facility in the next year.

Join in celebrating the opening of Paris Eastside with a full week of free events and workshops open to the public December 4 – 8, 2012.
Tuesday, December 4th
Celebrate the feast of Sainte Barbe, with a typical French Provençal Christmas tradition – planting wheat. In France a small display of the sprouting wheat is used to decorate the Christmas table and it’s said that a healthy plant
indicates good fortune and health in the new year. During December you can see plates of sprouting wheat in shops and homes all over France. Create your own wheat display and bring home a bit French Christmas flair to decorate your home during the holidays. 11am or 5pm (45 minutes sessions)
Wednesday, December 5th
Wednesday is ‘children’s day’ in France: no school, and a chance to spend quality time with mom or dad.
Come and listen to a French story teller, accompanied by a world-class violinist. 4pm (45 minutes session)
Thursday, December 6 and Friday, December 7
Friendship bracelets called ‘bracelets de l’amitié’ are an extremely popular fashion in France.
Most Parisians wear 5 or 6 around their wrist. Come and make your own with a lovely charm. 5pm (45 minutes
session)
Saturday, December 8th
Learn to cook like the French. We’ll prepare a tasty and easy French recipe, perfect for the Holiday season. 11am or 5pm (1 hour sessions)
Paris Eastside is described as part shop, part workshop “dedicated to the pursuit and enjoyment of an eclectic French lifestyle”
At Paris Eastside you’ll discover a wide assortment of French products … Home goods such as fine kitchen and tableware, linens, boxes, and bags … Specialty foods like candies, wines, and mustards (to name just few) … Fine adornments for yourself and those you love … and a collection of French contemporary artwork.
Looks like the original plans for a shop at 13th and Madison have undergone a revision. The new location on E Pike will neighbor the coming-soon Capitol Cider project.
