Seattle super bartender launching Canon on 12th Ave as Licorous makes way — UPDATE

Five years after spinning out of its neighbor Lark, 12th Ave’s Licorous is making way for a “whiskey and bitters emporium.” Seattle bartender Jamie Boudreau confirms he has found a home for his Canon.

No comment yet from Lark’s John Sundstrom on the change. Boudreau, whose resume includes Vessel, Tini Bigs and Knee High Stocking Co. has been conducting a rather public hunt for a location for his bar while continuing to work at Rob Roy in Belltown.

He’s planning to open in the former Licorous space by the end of summer but we see a DPD review of the planned remodel of the 12th Ave venue hasn’t been conducted yet. Given the department’s backlog, creating Canon: Whiskey and Bitters Emporium might take a little bit longer than planned.

Also no word, yet, on last dates for Licorous and the fate of the pop-up Shophouse that has been taking over the space on Monday nights.

sorry, so is lark closing or is licorous? your article makes it sound like licorous is but then in the second to last paragraph you mention lark. so i’m not really sure which of the two places is closing and which is staying.

Licorous. Clarified. Hope that helps you put it all together.
