Pike/Pine architecture tours are on again, starting tomorrow

The Seattle Architecture Foundation has fired up their walking tour schedule to once again run the Pike/Pine: Cars, Bars, and Dead Rock Stars tour through our 'hood.  The Pike/Pine tour is only offered four times in 2009, with the first one occurring tomorrow, March 14th. The remaining dates in 2009 are May 6, July 11, and September 12.

Purchase advance tickets for SAF's Pike/Pine tour through Brown Paper tickets. Tickets are $15 (plus service fee) in advance, or $20 the day of, walk-up style. Tours last approximately 2 hours and begin at 10:00am. The starting point for this tour is outside the Broadway Performance Hall. If you are doing a walk up, be there before 10:00am; the tour guides like to get started on time.

I went on the Pike/Pine tour last year and wrote about the auto-row related historical builidings in the neighborhood.  I liked the informative blend of historical through future development.  The tour guides were knowledgeable and answered a lot of questions. I  recommend this tour for any with an interest in the past, present, and future developments in the Pike/Pine neighborhood.

Seattle Architecture Foundation - -  Pike/Pine: Cars, Bars, and Dead Rock Stars: "Where bass players once roamed, condos now rule. Experience the revolution as we take a trip through the eclectic neihborhood's past, present, and future."

On a related note, SAF conducts a second tour on our hill: the Harvard Belmont tour of Seattle's only Residential Landmark District. This tour is scheduled monthly, March through December. BottleNeck went on the Harvard Belmont tour last fall and reported back to CHS: "Thanks, we totally enjoyed this and never would have gone if not for your post. Thanks so much."

Thanks!
Hope you can tell me reminders when this comes up in the future. :-) I missed yesterday's.

It's good to have a knowledgable and on-time tour guide for the tour.
