Dog takes Capitol Hill incredible journey

A scared dog took East Precinct officers on a 30-minute, 2-mile chase across Capitol Hill today. Here’s the path the poor pooch covered and the play by play from the CDNews scanner report. Hopefully there are no serious injuries for the animal who was reportedly struck by a vehicle, setting off the adventure.

My crazy dog, who slipped out of his collar/leash, actually began his run in the Central district and then ran around the outskirts of the International District before streaking through the SU campus. A long while later, he managed to to collide with a truck. And yes, as part of his action adventure, he struck the front of the truck, tumbled underneath it, stopped for a second and then managed to keep running into Capitol Hill. Aside from needing a couple of stitches on his hind leg and sustaining grease marks on his face, he’s doing incredibly well.

A million thanks to the Seattle Police Department and Animal Control who finally grabbed a hold of him. Also, thanks to the folks on the SU campus who tried to run after him.

Needless to say, he has a new heavy duty harness and is taking much shorter walks for a while…

So glad to hear your dog is ok!! My dog doesn’t seem fazed by cars either, so it would be my worst nightmare to watch him get hit by one.
