Uh, it’s a little late for this, but I just got it via email so I thought I’d better pass it along…

just a chance to show off your artwork.
Burgers, hot dogs and drinks provided by City Market, bring some of
your own food ideas to share.

See you there!
Powhat stands for the Pine-Olive-Way-Harvard-Area-Triangle, the boundaries of our neighborhood. The POWHat Neighborhood Association meets on the first Wednesday of each month from 7 – 8 p.m. at the Capitol Hill Presbyterian Church on Howell, between Boylston and Harvard. We are an ad hoc group of interested community members working to make our neighborhood safe and welcoming for all.
If you cannot attend the monthly meeting, but are interested in getting involved, please contact us at [email protected] for more info.
As I’m posting this I can hear the very loud and very terrible cover band? karaoke group? blasting away. Joy of joys that they’re doing this until 11:30 and again tomorrow.
I’m literally about 30 feet from the stage, and I’m miserable listening to this nintendo garbage.
I’m a bit farther than you are, on the fourth floor of a melrose addressed apt, which means I’m street level with this crap, but I figure I’ll give the noise control people a call tomrorow and see if we can’t get them to shut the hell up at 10 instead of 11:30.
Boy, that music was murder! But it is *not* happening again tonight, as far as I know. I’m all for a block party in my neighborhood, but just because it’s Capitol Hill, does it have to turn into Amateur Music Showcase at Top Volume? On a Tuesday night? Really?
hey, it’s not very neighborly to call your neighbors’ music terrible.
also, don’t you guys all live next to 3-4 bars, including the crescent? if you want quiet at 11:30 i think you picked the wrong neighborhood.
…I don’t expect it to be Wallingford-quiet, and it’s especially noisy during the summer, when everyone’s out and you have to sleep with the windows open. But there should be a BALANCE between a neighborhood being lively and being accommodating for a diverse population. The music at the block party was *way* louder than it needed to be for the crowd that was actually AT the block party to hear it.
