Park Lost & Found suggestions

On the way out of Volunteer Park this evening we found a set of Honda car keys (with lock/unlock clicker). Although it might have been fun walking around pointing it at cars and trying to unlock them we ended up leaving the keys on a park bench near where we found them.

There was no obvious place to take them: we were far from the kiddie pond lifeguard and the museum staff has been less than enthused in the past when we asked for help with a stray dog in the park (I think the museum might have been closed already anyway). Once, when we found a wallet in the park we dropped it off at the police station.

Anyone have any suggestions for dealing with park lost & found items?
